John and Dana

and our life with the munchkins!

Yesterday was an emotional day for the Cathony (and Rork) family.  Edward Cathony (Grandpa or Baga Baga) passed away  Saturday May 15th at 6:20am. He lived 87 strong years, without major illnesses or disease, with a quadruple heart bi-pass surgery under his belt, he lived another 8 years! He was a WW2 veteran, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and an artist at heart. He was amazing at his various jobs. Painting was something he enjoyed and something that made him who he was. Looking back at all his work, watercolors, hardline acrylic and sketches were all things he loved to design and create.

He loved to  comment on the Cubs, the Bears, and all types of other sports, and was even beginning to enjoy watching golf occasionally. He loved a good grilled cheese sandwich, liver at Paul’s, and chop suey. My grandpa was an independent man, who up until a week ago when he went into the hospital, always wanted to continue to work and paint. He was very with it mentally and physically for an 87-year-old. Which is something all of us pray and hope to have in our genes. His strength, stamina, and ability to want to continue will always be remembered.

We’ll miss you Grandpa (Baga Baga). Thank you for the memories!

So sorry you lost Baga Baga. Hopefully he passed peacefully and without pain. He will certainly be up in a better place from now until forever. XoXo
